Phase 1: Kongdoori
The Forest Canopy Ride
Starting from the Gulmarg resort, the first stage takes you on a breathtaking 10-minute ride over towering pine and fir forests to the bowl-shaped Kongdoori station (8,530 ft).

Activities: Kongdoori is a massive plateau. In winter, it's perfect for beginner skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding. In summer, enjoy ATV rides and horse riding.

Dining: Relax at the high-altitude restaurants here, sipping traditional Kashmiri Kahwa or hot Maggi while overlooking the spectacular valley below.
Phase 2: Apharwat Peak
Touching the Sky
The second stage is not for the faint-hearted. It lifts you out of the tree line and into the stark, breathtaking alpine zone, culminating near the summit of Apharwat Peak at a staggering 13,058 feet.

Panoramic Views: On a clear day, you can see the mighty Nanga Parbat (the 9th highest mountain in the world) and the Line of Control (LoC).

Extreme Skiing: This is where professional freeriders and heli-skiers come for untouched, deep powder snow, widely considered the best in Asia.
Alpather Lake
The Frozen Lake
Also known as the 'Frozen Lake', Alpather Lake is a high-altitude alpine lake situated at the foot of the twin Apharwat Peaks. It remains completely frozen from November until mid-June.

The Trek: Reaching the lake requires a rugged 1.5 km trek or a pony ride starting from the Phase 2 Gondola station. The terrain is rocky but the vibrant turquoise water (in summer) or vast icy expanse (in winter) is deeply rewarding.
